How long has it been? Weeks? Months? Years? I no longer know. The days have blended together into one, punctuated only by barely noticed sunrises and sunsets. He's coming now. I know this is my last night. The freezer is empty. I feel sick to my stomach every time I think of the roasts and steaks we've consumed. He's in the room and preparing a syringe. I believe I should use my last minutes of life to pray.
