In many ways, Audre Lorde's experience parallels the paradigms that have emerged and shifted in both the feminist and lesbian movements. Naming the different intersections of race, class, gender, sexual orientation and socioeconomic status is imperative. Only through acknowledging and naming difference can individuality be allowed to exist, creating space for harmony among human beings.
