The Yellow wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
A repressive patriarchal society is successfully displayed in Charlotte Gilman’s “The Yellow Wallpaper.”[170] In this short story, Gilman implies the sexual politics that hinder between man and wife in a specific sociocultural setting, namely that of the late 1800’s. Indeed, the psychoanalytical perspectives speak sharply of the pitfalls of denying one’s own self in this story full of symbolism, truth, and in many way's, a nightmare.

is amiss and what is a reality within the main character (Anne). Anne entered the yellow wallpapered room not knowing that what she was missing was her own autonomy, and she left this room fully aware of it. The story delves deeply into the aspects of human behavior as well as insight into the realities of women, both yesterday and today.
