The entire platoon stayed up all night talking about getting a taste of combat and putting wagers on what squad would be the lucky 12. Well, in about 30 minutes we would find out who the so called “lucky 12” will be.

I’m not saying that all veterans have been through John P. Wilson’s situation, but you never know, and I hope that you never have to experience it. I experienced it, as you read in the above story, and I’m glad that it was only a training exercise for me.
