Often times, musicals are over the top in terms of emotions. It is just not realistic to dance and sing all the time. The “Gotta Dance” sequence may be a part that many people can relate to. There are many different ways to look at why this part was included in Singin in the Rain. If nothing else at all, Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly having given their audience a brilliant piece of eye candy.
