A revolution can be defined as an extensive or drastic change in conditions. Although from contrasting times and perspectives, two authors who encounter the topic of revolution in their writings are Karl Marx and Thomas Kuhn. Upon first reading of the essays by Thomas Kuhn and Karl Marx, there was little that was perceived as similar in the two works. The authors were men of contrasting times and places. However, the ideas of Kuhn’s paradigm shifts run parallel to Marx’s thoughts on political revolution. In conclusion, Marx’s theory of revolution does indeed confirm Kuhn’s theory of scientific revolution.
