On May 18,1920, in Wadowice Poland, Karol Józef Wojtyla was born. His parent’s names were Emilia and Karol; they had an elder son named Edmund who was born on August 27, 1906. Emilia also gave birth to a daughter however, there are no records of her birth, baptism or death as a baby. Lolek (as Karol Józef was called by his family and friends) was baptized by a military chaplain, Father Franciszek Zak on June 20,1920
