Pascal’s Wager
Pascal's Wager, formulated by the 17th century mathematician and philosopher Blaise Pascal. In this wager, Pascal gives a formula for the possible existence of God and it’s rewards for doing so. In the following, the wager will be illustrated and strengths and weaknesses will be identified. Also explained will be why Pascal would reject both rationalist and empiricist approaches to scientific knowledge.

begins again. Second, is that Pascal’s thinking requires one to decide on a specific denomination and in this case Christianity. The God Pascal is chasing after is an abstract being. It does not take into account other Gods or that possibility. Third and final is how is it known that God does not reward mathematical minds and punish intuitive thinkers like Pascal? These are all definitely strong and valid objections to Pascal’s Wager.
