…showed last 75 words of 1082 total…and Egypt was no longer its own country. Khedives still ruled it, but they were mainly there for show. The British were in control now. So Egypt tied into the Industrial revolution because it temporarily replaced the United States of America in the ever important cotton industry, and because it was essentially controlled by powerhouse Britain. Egypt didn’t gain nominal independence until 1922, eight years after the industrial revolution. Finally, in 1953, Egypt became a republic.
