Exposition:
The beginning of the story had started in Oklahoma during the month of May. The rain was said to bring growth to the corn. However the seasons were changing and that drought began and by the beginning of June the vegetation of the world began to fade and become dust.

Symbiotic circle: there was an occurring theme of death and life in the story. There was first the mouse, then the dog, then Lennie himself who had died. There was always a sense of light of life that was seen in the dreams of owning their own farm and land occurred.
