Eartha Mae Kitt-Fields was born January 17, 1927 in Saint-Matthews, South Carolina to a white dirt farmer and a black Cherokee mother. At the age of eight, she was sent away to live with her aunt in Harlem because a new suitor had a prejudice against the color of her skin. on her life entitled "All By Myself" was produced by filmmaker Christian Blackwood. In recent years Kitt has been making guest appearances in television shows and movies such as Boomerang with Eddie Murphy, “The Nanny”, “New York Undercover”, and “The Famous Jett Jackson” to name a few. Now days Eartha lives and New York City and heads the Project On Growing, a program that teaches homeless families to grow their own food and feed themselves.
