Ben finally gets the gun and takes over Madec. When Ben takes Madec back, instead of charging him with a number of crimes he just states what happened in the mountains and asks for justice. When a citizen “slips one by” usually they go for all they can get and not just for what they need, this is the only difference I see between the book and American Soceity.
