Recently the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) held a meeting addressing censorship of television and radio. Censorship has been a highly controversial topic since the 1920’s, when the regulation of radio broadcasts began. People on both sides of the censorship controversy have valid points. Some television production companies and musical artists believe that the first amendment gives them the right to broadcast their work without being censored. It is my belief that uncensored explicit compact disks should be sold only to people 18 and up. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) should also make recording companies manufacture censored compact disks for people 18 and under. In conclusion, I suggest that there be stricter guidelines put in place for what is broadcast on television and radio. But that’s just one guy’s opinion.
