Although Vladimir and Estragon appear to pursue an unobtainable goal in Waiting for Godot, they are passionately committed to their purpose. In a race against time the quality of one’s life ultimately outweighs the quantity. Life may be absurd, but in a cruel and indifferent world our only salvation is a genuine existence.
