Creon is characterized as a tragic hero in these ways. Without these characteristics, Creon wouldn’t have been a tragic hero and Antigone wouldn’t be a tragic play. Creon brought this onto himself without even realizing it. He thought he would be better off ignoring his fate, but free will just led him back to his doom.
