Ironically, the theme of A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens has nothing to do with geographical distance or size, as suggested by the title; rather it is predominately about resurrection. Throughout the novel, resurrection plays a vital role in the plot of the story that adds to its appeal. Charles Dickens amalgamates the theme of resurrection and the story plot together with great craftsmanship. Not only do the characters show that resurrection is a strong theme, the events that develop support it as well. Perhaps that is why A Tale of Two Cities is a well renowned novel.
